The Gotham Film & Media Institute announced the winners of the 5th Annual Focus Features & JetBlue Student Short Film Showcase

These five filmmakers were selected from a pool of over 1,500 submissions. They will be honored at the 33rd annual Gotham Awards Ceremony on November 27, 2023 in New York City.

In addition to being recognized at the Gotham Awards, the winners will also receive a distribution deal with Focus Features and JetBlue. Their films will be screened on JetBlue’s seatback entertainment systems throughout 2024. They will also be featured on Focus Features’ SVOD platforms.

“The Gotham is proud to support these talented emerging filmmakers,” said Jeffrey Sharp, Executive Director of The Gotham Film & Media Institute. “We are committed to discovering new voices and helping them share their stories with the world.”

The Gotham Film & Media Institute is a non-profit organization that supports emerging filmmakers. The Institute offers a variety of programs and services, including grants, workshops, and mentorship.

Focus Features is a specialty film studio that produces and distributes independent films. The studio has released such critically acclaimed films as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Brokeback Mountain, and The Theory of Everything.

JetBlue is an American low-cost airline that is headquartered in Long Island City, New York. The airline serves over 100 destinations in North America, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
